Lime Bag Rub Cornwall

Our Lime bag-rub services on historic buildings in Cornwall are an effective application if the integrity of your stonework has been lost, but you want to maintain the appearance of the stone.

A Lime bag-rub application, both internally and externally, covers the stone and fills the joints of the stonework to achieve a sympathetic and decorative finish.

Following the removal of the existing jointing applications, a thorough cleaning takes place before the Lime bag-rub application process begins.

A Lime mortar is worked well into the joints, and once the curing process begins it is rubbed with hessian. This process is repeated once the Lime mortar starts to go off to eliminate any shrinkage that may occur.
